Trading Selectivity - Adding Trade Setup Selectivity Components

what is trading selectivity?
what is the reason for trading selectivity?
what are the different things that trading selectivity is based on?
what does market condition have to do with trading selectivity?
what does time frame-tick count have to do with trading selectivity?
what is a method base setup description?
what are additional trade setup components for method selectivity?
what are method selective base setup combinations?

Setup1

setup1:  i saw 2 trade posts from people who had 'told' me that there setups included a break2 with mex flow into a triple break.  i looked at my charts at the post time-post price to compare to their basic setup description AND saw the time was the yellow bars-the price entered was the blue dot - to which i remarked that the trade was against mex flow AND there was no triple break.

this then became about our charts being different AND they had mex flow at that time - something that also misses the point that they still didn't have their described setup - that there was no break2 or triple break.  AND what about the price traded OR anything additionally selective besides a possible fast chart right side setup - additional setup components that make a possible fast chart indicator difference a non-issue?

WHY did this become about fast chart-right side possible differences?  WHY didn't this become a 'discussion' about the selective base setup that had just occurred on the 120t chart - a setup that was right side base AND had additional selectivity components?  WHY didn't this become a 'discussion' about the blue bars-red dot AND the pmd high start point - paa price break2 with mex flow - into-through the left side diagonal?

Setup2

another frequent trade post comes at the blue dots:  blue dot1 becoming a right side break2 of the blue line-triple break of the 2 yellow squares OR blue dot2 becoming a blue line reject first continuation.

again there is a fast chart mex flow issue where blue dot1 is before the roll back for some - as a reason why the  first continuation trade is done at blue dot2 instead of blue dot1 BUT what about the actual setup issues?  blue dot1 is NOT a break2 of the line simply because it had 'ticked through' at the right yellow square AND there isn't mex flow at this location regardless of whether the rollback had occurred - there was no retrace with mex flow down regardless.

AND what about direction from the previous swing - isn't this a counter initial reverse breakout of that price?  there is no base method setup at this point AND right side-fast chart mex flow differences is irrelevant.

NOW what about blue dot2 - is this a 'good' first continuation trade simply because a line reject could be seen - what about the entry being right a support BOTH from the left blue line AND the yellow line right below it which was the previous day's high trying to shift to support?

NOTE:  blue dot2 is a chart-setup that i am very frequently shown as someone's description of THEIR base setup - described as a line reject first continuation trade.  under any circumstances this is a 'minimal' fast chart-right side only setup as a channel break of the prior bar low after the reject.  there is nothing that has been shown-mentioned in the description for price failure OR the left side breakout potential - nothing that is additionally selective for continuation.  BUT invariably the setup will be shown as a hindsight winning trade - which has nothing to do with the actual setup AND any reason to continually watch for it-repeat it when it occurs.

the red dot sell is right side base AND selective base - selective for key left side price failure - AND 'incidentally' why the blue dot sells worked.  the setup is a matched price failure of the blue-yellow lines OF WHICH the yellow line is additional significant in that it is a daily price - AFTER a lower high test-reject of the blue shift line WITH mex flow down - AND you also get to enter into-through the 2 purple square 'tweezer' break.

now you might say what difference does it make WHY the trade worked - i sold the blue dot which was also at a better price AND i got a winning trade?

to which i would answer - take the blue dot sell 10 times AND you will have as many-more losers AND/OR trades that can't be held on retrace before they win - along with 'so many' similar setups that you won't take them all WHICH is going to 'skew' your results further?  now take the red dot sell 10 times.  you are going to have both a far higher win-loss ratio WITH a larger average partial1 AND you will have fewer setup occurrences that will need to be considered as a function of the selectivity of the setup.

Trading Selectivity

In the last 2 weeks [2-1-2008 chart] i have received some 30-35 charts with 'base setup definitions' on them like the yellow dot - being called triple bottom breaks with mex flow AND no additional description - all of these charts shown being winning trades.

the yellow dot is not a right side base setup - it's not with mex flow AND a triple bottom break 'only' isn't a base setup regardless of mex flow - the charts sent were mixed as to whether they were with or against mex flow.

from my experience this is the hindsight marking of a winning trade - marked-described for where it appears to have triggered BUT being against mex flow on that bar missed.  i also wonder when i see a chart like this - WHY is the red dot sell which is a base setup 'ignored' - BUT a 'bottom breakout' almost 2 points lower is the example of a setup being 'waited' for?

all of this being said - the yellow dot is a selective base setup AND one that was done as an addon to the red dot.  what are the setup components of this trade - the decision wasn't a triple bottom breakout sell of the 2 yellow squares?

Base Setup - Selective Base Setup

Look at the 2 charts below [1-31-2008 charts]:  does each swing have a base setup AND IF yes - where does the setup trigger AND what is the base setup description?  then are there any additional selective setup components that make the setup more than right side base AND IF yes - what are these components?
